How to deliver events that people love
How to deliver events that people love
What is the difference between a bad event, an ‘ok’ event and an event that people love? It is subjective, but there are elements that underpin an event that people love. And we will dig a little deeper into that in this blog.
The design and execution of innovative event formats are a staple for successful events that people will love. There is also a list of hygiene factors to manage such as location, ease of travel, venue attraction and the feeling guests get from the ambiance and the delivery of event content. That’s a lot of moving parts to nail! Which is no easy task, unless your LemonZest of course!
When you consider the benefits of interactive and participant-led events, attendee engagement is imperative to deliver the experience that participants crave and deliver what the event host wants to achieve. It’s a key element when it comes to the difference of an ‘ok’ event or an event that people love.
Signs your event is more run of the mill than captivating:
Drop in attendee numbers.
Low audience engagement.
Minimal profile of the event.
Lack of buzz about the event pre, during and post event.
Average feedback and evaluation from attendees.
In a recent poll we ran on LinkedIn and other platforms, we asked what is the one thing that is key when deciding to attend an event/conference/awards evening? The results were:
Ease of travel/transport links 41%
Attraction of venue 8%
Profile of the event 51%
The results show that if your event has the right profile, agenda, reasons to attend then the people will follow! Building credibility of the event is important as attendees will refer to their experience when attending and engaging in future years. Fostering a meaningful experience and mutually beneficial connections create a great balance between learning, engagement that participants want and need.
Ease of travel is also a consideration for attendees, and it is worth looking at this when identifying venues for your shortlist.
Tips to deliver an event that people will love:
Prioritise seamless organisation.
Choose an innovative meeting format.
Keep it energetic with changes in format and delivery over the course of the event.
Add unexpected moments.
Balance learning, connection and fun.
Thoughtful planning, immersive experiences, and genuine engagement - deliver on these, and you’ll create something that your audience truly love.
The LemonZest Team are offering anyone with an upcoming event a free consultation to discuss how to transform your event into a “can’t-miss” event.
